Whitegates adds the Local touch to Pontefract

Whitegates has returned to Pontefract after penning a deal with independent estate agents Local Properties to take over the franchise of the town centre store. Local Properties owner, Helen Lawrence, will act as Director, running the team at the store and its existing portfolio. Formalising the company as a franchisee will mean the name of Whitegates will appear over the door.
For Whitegates Steve Kirk, Franchise Director, linking with a company with such a strong local reputation is the best of both worlds for Pontefract’s property market, “We’ve been working for several months with Local Properties and are delighted someone with Helen’s experience and standing is coming on board. The Whitegates name has been trading for 33 years and what we offer within the Xperience group is a national, trusted brand, with a local touch and knowledge, which in these uncertain times in the property market is exactly what buyers, tenants and sellers need”.
Local Properties has a strong market share and the partnership with Whitegates will help them expand further into the lettings market and the Exclusively Whitegates mid and upmarket brand both of which are strong in Pontefract. They have been trading as a family run firm for 27 years in the region and Helen Lawrence believes taking over the franchise won’t change their core values, “We’ve built our name and reputation with a strong community approach backed up with local knowledge. We’re a good team and this move allows us to have the reputation and reach of a national company, while retaining a hands on, high street approach”.
